Phil Masiello, Co-Founder
Phil Masiello heads the consumer e-commerce and marketplace division. Masiello founded Hound Dog Digital Marketing Agency. Before merging, the firm was one of the fastest growing agencies in the nation. They specialize in E-commerce assistance for consumer product companies. In addition, Hound Dog Digital is renowned for their Amazon marketing expertise.
Before his marketing endeavors, Phil founded several businesses. As CEO, he spear-headed disruptive business models. Throughout his career, Phil’s forward-thinking approach gained his businesses recognition and success.
Mr. Masiello was founder and CEO of 800Razors.com. The E-commerce company sold high-quality, American-made razors. Efficiency made the brand cost-effective and competitive. Due to this, 800Razors competed with national brands at a fraction of the price. John Sculley, David Sculley, and Michael Phelps invested in the company. At that time, Phil also advised the marketing for Sculley’s website, book, and learning series. Additionally, Masiello advised on the marketing of Wolfgang Pucks’s Online Cooking School.
Previously, Masiello co-founded Raw Beauty, Inc. with Carol Alt. Raw Beauty developed and marketed raw essentials skincare. They sold through retailers, an online store, and home shopping channels. During this time, he worked with Forbes Riley, Nick Verreos, and Marla Wynne. He assisted the marketing for their fashion lines on HSN and in Macy’s.
Earlier in his career, Phil founded Metro Marketing. The agency worked with emerging natural and organic brands. They developed a brand presence for online, retail, and TV shopping channels. At 25, he founded his first startup, The Daily Market. Subsequently, the grab-and-go meal chain was purchased by a major supermarket.
He has an MBA in Finance and Marketing from University of Maryland. In addition, Phil is active in the university’s entrepreneurial programs. He’s an advisor and mentor for several incubators in Baltimore and DC.
